Important Notes

  Hours for Application:  9:00 - 11:00 AM   Hours for Pick-Up:    2:00 - 03:30 PM
  Closed on Fridays, Saturdays and the Embassy’s Designated Holidays.
 
● NO prior appointment is needed for visa applications. The application period is between 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday, except Embassy’s Designated Holidays. Applicants will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
VISA APPLICANTS OVER THE AGE OF 18 MUST APPLY IN PERSON. We cannot accept applications by an authorized person.
 
Visa applications cannot be submitted by email. Please print all the required documents and submit them to the Embassy.
 
● When submitting the visa application, the original passport will be kept at the embassy and the applicant cannot take it back before the visa is done processing.
 
● The visa processing period for ordinary visas takes at least 5 working days after all the documents are submitted. The period may vary case by case and/or if the period coincides with official holidays in Japan or Jordan and/or during high seasons.

● We recommend visa applicants to submit their applications 3 weeks before their travel date to allow sufficient time for securing an appointment and processing of the visa. We accept applications only up to 3 months in advance from the travel date.
 
● Jordanian nationals receive the visas free of charge. Visa handling fee for Indian nationals is 4.00 JD and 14.00 JD for all other nationals except nationals exempt from visa fees.
 
The required certificates and letters must be original, valid and issued within the last three months from the date of submission (* while documents prepared in Japan are accepted as copies, the Embassy may request the applicants to submit the originals).
 
● The submitted documents will NOT be returned, except for passports, IDs and some certificates. Also, applicants may be required to submit additional documents.
 
● Applicants may be requested to attend for an interview on a date designated by the Embassy.
 
● A visa application could be rejected if it did not meet the Criteria of Visa Issuance (MOFA Website). In case of rejection, according to the rules of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, we cannot give you the specific reason. You will be able to apply for the same type of visa after six months from the rejection.
 
 

Visa Categories 

1. Short-term Stay Visa (Single Entry)
 (Note 1) The requirements below are applicable to Jordanians, Syrians, Yemenis and other nationals legally residing in Jordan.
 (Note 2) Visa is not required for ordinary passport holders of Regions and Countries of Visa exemption (MOFA Website). 
             
   (A) For Business / Conference / Training / Cultural or Sports Exchange etc.
     
   (B) For Visiting Relatives / Acquaintances

   (C) For Tourism
        
 

2. Long-term Stay Visa (Single Entry) (for Holders of Certificate of Eligibility)
For applying for a visa for the purpose of employment or residence for more than 90 day in Japan, the authorized person in Japan should obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) in advance
