The Government of Japan supports Construction of Small-Scale Water Harvesting Infrastructure in Wadi Araba Region, Aqaba Governorate

The Government of Japan approved the utilization of JD 169,342.206 from the Counterpart Fund for the purpose of implementing the project titled “Construction of Small-Scale Water Harvesting Infrastructure in Wadi Araba Region, Aqaba Governorate”. The project aims to secure local water resources, reduce vulnerability to drought, support and improve the livelihoods of farmers through the implementation of sustainable water-harvesting solutions.
The Counterpart Fund was established for economic and social development purposes in Jordan. The Fund’s deposits are generated and accumulated overtime from sales revenue of commodities procured by the Government of Jordan through Non-Project Grant Aid provided by the Government of Japan.
