Japan Provides Jordan with a Grant in the Value of Eight Hundred Million Japanese Yen

The Government of Japan has decided to extend a grant amounting up to eight hundred million Japanese Yen (¥800,000,000). This grant aims to enhance healthcare services and humanitarian response in Jordan as part of the Economic and Social Development Program.
On Sunday, February 8, 2026, the Notes were signed and exchanged at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation between H.E. ASARI Hideki, Ambassador of Japan to Jordan, and H.E. Zeina Toukan, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation.
This new grant aid is extended for the provision of modern and advanced medical equipment at RMS medical city which will provide support to Jordan’s humanitarian assistance, medical care, and to ensure that children evacuated from Gaza receive the care they urgently need.
During the signing ceremony, Ambassador ASARI stated: “Japan is pleased to support the "Jordan Medical Corridor" initiative, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II. The medical equipment provided will not only strengthen the capacity of the Royal Medical Services (RMS) to treat patients from Gaza, but will also contribute to improving healthcare services for Jordanian citizens and others who rely on RMS facilities.”
