Ambassador ASARI Hideki visits Azraq Refugee Camp Observed the impact of a Japan-funded project through WFP

On 1 October 2025, Ambassador ASARI Hideki of Japan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan visited the Azraq Refugee Camp, to observe the impact of the ongoing Japan-funded project “ Provide General Food Assistance to Refugees and Other Crisis-affected Populations as well as School Feeding to Vulnerable Jordanians and Refugees in Jordan”. The visit included touring a WFP-contracted supermarket where refugees redeem their monthly cash transfer assistance to purchase food of their choice, meeting with a female-headed family receiving WFP cash assistance and visiting a refugee-run community kitchen, where women prepare and package nutritious meals for school children benefiting from the National School Feeding Program.
