2025/9/25
On 24 September 2025, Ambassador ASARI Hideki of Japan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan visited Zaatari Refugee Camp to meet with refugees benefiting from the ongoing Japan-funded “Empowering Women through Community-based Protection and Delivery of Urgent Cash-based Interventions to Vulnerable Refugees in Jordan” project.
During his visit, Ambassador ASARI toured a community center, where critical community engagement activities are conducted. These include cultural and educational initiatives, child protection and women empowerment activities, and livelihood skills development. Ambassador ASARI also met with refugees during a focus group session discussing the impact of different support on their lives, including cash-based interventions.
Under this project, Japan’s funding plays a crucial role in providing survival funds to refugees facing extreme hardship, including those with serious health conditions, single-parent households, survivors of gender-based violence, and others at heightened risk.
