Call for Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs) from Jordan
 
The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme seeks to enhance internationalisation in Japan by promoting mutual understanding between the people of Japan and those of other nations. The Programme aims to enhance foreign language education and promote international exchange at the local level through the fostering of ties between Japanese youth and foreign youth alike.  Participants are invited to Japan as honoured representatives of their countries.  JET Programme participants have the opportunity to serve in local authorities as well as public and private elementary, junior high, and senior high schools in Japan. As for Jordan in particular, we are looking for a motivated and qualified Jordanian who can work in Noshiro-city, Akita Prefecture (located in North of Japan) for one year as a Coordinators for International Relations (CIR): A participant will engage in internationalisation activities, being placed in international exchange departments or bureaus of the City Office of Noshiro-city, Akita which will host the Jordanian Olympic-Paralympic team in the next year. The primary roles of the participant will include coordination with the delegation team and holding cultural exchange events to foster communication between the delegation team and local population
 
PROGRAMME PERIOD:
In principle, the period of participation is for one year.  Under circumstances, it is generally possible to renew participation up to a total of 3 years. However, if the Participant’s work performance, level of experience, and ability are deemed to be of an exceptionally high standard by his/her Contracting Organisation, it is possible to renew participation up to a total of 5 years.

ELIGIBILITY
  • Be interested in Japan and be willing to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of Japan after their arrival
  • Be willing and able to adapt to living and working in Japan, and be determined to responsibly complete their period of participation.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher, or obtain such qualifications.
  • Be a national (not just a permanent resident) of the country where the recruitment and selection procedures take place by the time they submit their application form. Furthermore, those who possess Japanese nationality must have submitted their applications to renounce their Japanese nationality before submitting their Reply Form. Applicants who possess multiple nationalities with countries other than Japan may only apply as a national of one of those countries.
  • Not have lived in Japan for 6 or more years in total since 2010
  • Have a functional command of the English and Japanese language. CIR applicants must: Have a functional command of the Japanese language (Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 or N2 is desirable).

Notes:
  • ONLY APPLICATIONS FOR CIR ARE ACCEPTED FROM JORDAN.  Applications for ALT and SEA programs will be automatically rejected.
  • Application must be written in English Language
  • Due to current situation of Novel Coronavirus in Japan, the schedule for the JET programme has been delayed this year.Therefore:
  • Students expected to graduate are not allowed to participate in the programme.
  • Departure time is postponed to December 2020-Febuary 2021 (exact date will be announced later). There is no option of early or late arrival travel date, only one travel date optionAdditionally, the departure time might change depending on the Coronavirus and travel situation.
  • Only hard copy applications sent to the Embassy are accepted- electronic applications by email are not accepted

*The whole process was delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the departure time is postponed to December 2020-Febuary 2021 (exact date will be announced later).
