“The 71st anniversary of the Japan Self-Defense Forces Day” Reception

Ambassador of Japan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Asari Hideki commemorated “The 71st anniversary of the Self-Defense Forces Day” reception at the Ambassador's Residence on September 17, 2025 which was attended by the Jordan Armed Forces, Ambassadors and Defense Attaches of Diplomatic Corps, and a delegation from Japan’s Self-Defense Forces from Tokyo among others.
In his opening remarks, the Ambassador ASARI Hideki noted that 2025 marks both the 71st anniversary of the establishment of Japan’s Self-Defense Forces and the 71st anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Jordan. He emphasized that, for more than seventy years, the two countries have worked together to promote peace and stability in the Middle East and beyond, and that in recent years bilateral defense cooperation has advanced significantly, including the recent visit by Defense Minister Gen Nakatani. The Ambassador also mentioned that a bilateral exercise for non-combatant evacuation from the vicinity of Jordan is scheduled to be held in November. He concluded his remarks by stating that Japan will continue to further strengthen its strategic partnership with Jordan and work together for peace and stability in the region.
