Bombing near the Jordanian Field Hospital (Statement by Japanese Ambassador to Jordan OKUYAMA Jiro)

2023/11/16
We are deeply shocked by the injuries caused by the bombing near the Jordanian Field Hospital and would like to convey our sympathy to the wounded.

All parties should comply with international law including international humanitarian law. In addition, it is necessary to take all possible measures, including humanitarian pauses, in order to prevent harm to civilians in military operations.

Japan, as a member of the Security Council, exerted its effort for the adoption of the Security Council resolution on the improvement of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip on November 15th. Japan will continue to make diplomatic efforts to improve the circumstances on the ground and calm down the situation.
