Practical advice on choosing a university
Why? | Who? | How to find | How to reach | Selecting a city(For the Japanese government scholarship program only)
Acceptance at Japanese university is an essential part of the screening process. Applicants must give at the interview three names of Japanese professors whom they will look forward to receiving a letter of acceptance from, because the applicants who passed the preliminary selection must obtain a Letter of Acceptance (using the prescribed form) from a Japanese university where he/she wishes to study. That does not mean the applicants must make any contact with the professors before the interview. The applicants must start requesting Japanese professors after getting a certificate of the preliminary candidate to be issued from the Embassy.
Why is it essential?
Academic specialty: Your professor in Japan is to give you advice on a thesis which is an indispensable condition either for a "master's degree" or "doctor's degree".Japanese language The necessity of the Japanese language for the area of expertise is dependent on your supervising professor in Japan.
Who finds a professor suitable for your specialty?
You must find a professor by yourself: Because the subject you will deepen in Japan is too specific and specialized, you are requested to find and decide an adequate supervising scholar by yourself. The Embassy only provides general reference for choosing a university. For further inquiries | Back to top
