HANA-BI

Kitano is a favorite director of the top film festivals such as Cannes and Venice. HANA-BI is the story of a lonely detective who is shattered by the death of his colleague and his wife’s illness. The film presents the art of melancholic “Kitano blue”. In his film, even violence harmonizes with the prevailing serenity. HANA-BI won the grand prize (Golden Lion Award) at the 1997 Venice Film Festival.

"هانا – بي" إخراج كيتانو تاكيشي (إنتاج 1998 / 103 دقيقة)

كيتانو هو أحد مخرجي الأفلام المفضلين في مهرجان الأفلام الكبرى مثل مهرجاني كان وفينيسيا . يروي فيلم "هانا-بي" قصة مفتش شرطة يحيا وحيداً ومحطم القلب من جراء وفاة زميله ومرض زوجته . يقدم الفيلم فناً سوداوياً حزيناً للمخرج كيتانو . هناك تناغم في هذا الفيلم حتى بين العنف والسكون السائد . فاز الفيلم بالجائزة الكبرى ( جائزة الأسد الذهبي ) في مهرجان فينيسيا السينمائي عام 1997.


The Twilight Samurai

The first full-scale period film directed by the master of Japanese film industry, YAMADA Yoji. He manages to beautifully portray the ultimate Samurai spirit through the life of a low-ranking Samurai, during the last period of the Samurai era. This film was nominated for the Foreign Language Film Prize at the 76th Academy Awards in the USA, in 2004.

هذا هو أول فيلم درامي متكامل قام بإخراجه أستاذ صناعة الفيلم الياباني يوجي يامادا . استطاع يوجي يامادا أن يرسم صورة جميلة لروح الساموراي من خلال تصوير حياة أحد رجال الطبقة الدنيا من الساموراي . رشح الفيلم لجائزة أوسكار أحسن فيلم أجنبي في الولايات المتحدة لعام 2004


Hotel Hibiscus

Hotel Hibiscus is a small hotel in Okinawa, which has only one guest room. The film depicts the daily life of a 9-year-old girl living in the countryside and, through her, takes a look at things that are not often encountered in urban life. It also takes a positive look at the strength of the family bonds.

 فندق هيبسكس هو أحد الفنادق الصغيرة في أوكيناوا والذي لا يحتوي إلا على غرفة واحدة للإقامة. يصور الفيلم الحياة اليومية لفتاة صغيرة تبلغ من العمر 9 سنوات وتعيش في الريف. ويلقي الفيلم – من خلال هذه الفتاة – نظرة على الأشياء غير المعتاد مصادفتها في حياة المدينة، كما يلقي نظرة إيجابية على قوة الروابط العائلية.


Swing Girls

A story of high school students in a village in the Northeast of Japan. An accident in one summer leads to their involvement in forming a music band. Not really interested in the matter they start practicing, and as time passes they realize that they actually enjoyed learning how to play music and that they have found something they could love.
All through the film, the roles were actually played by the real actors who had no previous experience in playing those instruments.

"فتيات السوينج" إخراج ياجوتشي شينوبو (2004 / 105 دقيقة)

 يروي الفيلم قصة فتيات مدرسة ثانوية في قرية في شمال اليابان يتورطن في تكوين فرقة موسيقية بسبب حادثة خلال الإجازة الصيفية . تبدأ الفتيات في التمرين على العزف بدون رغبة حقيقية في ذلك ، ومع مرور الوقت يدركن مدى استمتاعهن بتعلم العزف على تلك الآلات، كما يدركن أنهن قد وجدن أخيراً شيئا جدير باهتمامهن وحبهن. قام الممثلون في الفيلم بأداء كل الأدوار دون الاستعانة بممثل بديل بالرغم من أنهم لم يكونوا على دراية بكيفية العزف على الآلات.

Hamdan and Zidane

Synopsis: Hamdan is a Jordanian boy who wants to play football for the French National Team. The fact that he is not French does not seem to concern him; after all, Zinedine Zidane is an Algerian who plays for France so why can’t he….Hmmmm…good point

Bassem Nasir: Bassem’s creativity has served him well in his professional career as a manager in an IT company as well as a writer, actor, and director. He has a degree in engineering as well as formal theatrical training from different New York City theatre schools. He has published several short stories and has just finished a script for a play/feature film.

ملخص الفيلم: حمدان فتا أردنيا يحلم في لعب كرة القدم مع منتخب فرنسا رغم أنة ليس فرنسي الجنسية. إن هذا الأمر لا يهمّه، فان زنادين زيدان جزائي،  يلعب مع منتخب فرنسا. فلما لا يستطيع حمدان؟ ... سؤال وجيه!

 

باسم ناصر: باسم يحمل شهادة في الهندسة بالإضافة إلى حصوله على التدريب المسرحي في العديد من كليات المسرح في نيويورك. لقد ساهمت موهبة باسم الإبداعية في تقدمه في عمله كمدير في شركة كمبيوتر وفي مسيرته الفنية ككاتب، وممثل، ومخرج. باسم لديه عدة قصص قصيرة منشورة، بالإضافة إلى أنه قد أنهى كتابة نص مسرحية/فيلم.

Synopsis: A filmmaker is curious to shoot the life of a can collector in the street. He searches for a week but with no luck, until one day he finds a man collecting cans from the street. The story ends with a turning point, where we see the filmmaker at the end of the film going through the trash.

Reem Bader: Holding a masters degree in Fine Arts from the UK, Reem wishes to expand her knowledge in all art forms which brought her to filmmaking. Film to her is a medium that can reach all audiences regardless of their backgrounds; this is, she believes, where film gets its power from. This is Reems' first short film, but she has produced pieces of video art before.

الفيلم: يشعر صانع أفلام بفضول حول ماهية حياة شخص يجمع العلب في الشارع.  يبحث لمدة أسبوع دون فائدة حتى يأتي يوم يجد فيه رجل يجمع العلب من الشارع.  تنتهي القصة بتحول مفاجئ حيث نشاهد صانع الأفلام في نهاية الفيلم وهو يبحث في القمامة.

 

ريم بدر: تأمل ريم، الحاصلة على شهادة الماجستير في الفنون الجميلة من المملكة المتحدة، أن توسع آفاق معرفتها بكافة أشكال الفنون التي أوصلتها إلى صناعة الأفلام.  بالنسبة لريم، الفيلم هو وسيلة يمكن من خلالها الوصول إلى الجمهور بغض النظر عن خلفيات الأشخاص.  فهنا، باعتقادها، تكمن قوة الأفلام.  وهذا هو الفيلم القصير الأول لريم إلا أنها كانت قد أنتجت مقتطعات فيديو فنية قبل ذلك.
