President
of Jordan Japan Academic Society (JJAS),
Dr. Mohammed Matouq,
Members of JJAS,
Good afternoon,
It is my great
pleasure to witness the inauguration of JJAS and host the reception
this afternoon. First of
all,
I would like to extend to
my hearty congratulations to all of you who successfully established a
new academic and friendship organization dedicated to Japan.
Number of the
Jordanians who studied and now studying in
Japan
is more than 70 since the Embassy started the
Scholarship in the 1970s. We
are also seeing six Jordanian students off to
Japan
this year. Those who completed study in
Japan
and returned to
Jordan
, actively contribute in the development of the
country and also in the enhancement of the relationship between two
countries.
We, the Embassy, highly appreciate the
efforts and assistance each of you has individually done for the
relations between
Japan
and
Jordan
. I
know we owe much to those who dedicated time and energy in both
Japan
and
Jordan
to fostering the mutual understanding between the
two peoples. I hope the
establishment of the JJAS to integrate your idea, knowledge and
expertise for the further strengthening and consolidating the friendly
ties.
The Embassy is always happy to assist and cooperate with JJAS in order
to build greater bonds of partnership.
Particularly in this year, I hope to collaborate with JJAS to
celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic
relations between
Japan
and
Jordan
.
I would like to
conclude my remarks by expressing my heartfelt congratulations once
again to the JJAS members and by wishing for the great success of
JJAS.
Thank you very much.
