It
is a great honor and pleasure for me to extend greetings to the People
of Jordan through our newly inaugurated Homepage in the spring of the
year 2004.
This year is a very significant milestone
between
Jordan
and
Japan
,
because it marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment
of the diplomatic relations between two countries.
In order to celebrate this happy occasion, the Embassy of Japan
arranged a
series of commemorative events and this new webpage is primarily
designed to provide
thorough information on the events.
The Japanese people
and companies in
Jordan
have already taken
the initiative in contributing to the joyful occasion of the
50th Anniversary. They
brought one hundred Japanese
cherry trees from
Japan
and donated
them to the
Jordanian people with the hope for ever lasting friendship between the
two countries. The
planting ceremony was organized on 9 March at
Al-Hussein
Park, Amman
as the
very first event of a series of the commemorative events.
The year
2004 also represents the 30th anniversary of the
establishment of both Jordanian and Japanese embassies in
Tokyo
and
Amman
.
During last 30 years
Japan
has been deeply involved in nation building of modern state of
Jordan
and tightened up strong bonds with this beautiful country.
We are soon introducing at this Webpage many on-going and
achieved projects by Japan
.
I designed
the Homepage to pay particular importance in presenting with beautiful
and fascinating features of
Jordan
as well.
I am convinced that thorough a description of this hospitable
country will reinforce tourism and facilitate in friendly exchange.
And
furthermore the Homepage plays a role as a gateway to offer the latest
topics from
Japan
in addition to bilateral news.
I
sincerely wish the further development of the existing friendly
relations between our two countries and citizens, and I am very much
honoured to appreciate the distinctive strong ties between
Jordan
and
Japan
on this auspicious occasion of the launching of the new Homepage of
the Embassy of Japan in Jordan.
You comments or suggestions on our activities would be most welcome
and valuable for the further cooperation between Jordan and
Japan. ...click |
