International Youth Development Exchange Program
(Jordanian delegation to visit Japan)

Outline The program started in 1994 to commemorate the Imperial marriage of H.I.H. the Crown Prince of Japan, which aims at deepening the mutual understanding between Japanese youth and foreign youths through visiting to various places in Japan and participating in a discussion session for four days.
History Jordan is a single country that has participated in the program every year since 1994.

Partner in Jordan The Higher Council for Youth
Selection Both the Higher Council and the Embassy of Japan in Jordan decide on members of the delegation.
Period Three weeks in July
Participant The winners of the annual Japanese speech contest usually join the program. The General Federation of Jordanian Women has started to send a member since 2004. 
Previous participants The Embassy of Japan invites previous participants to join a network to further enhance the ties between Jordan and Japan through the program.

Outline It also started on the occasion of the Imperial marriage in 1994. The youth goodwill mission visit many cities in Jordan to consolidate the friendly ties between Japan and Jordan.
History Jordan received the Japanese mission almost every year since the program started. The visits in 1999,2002, 2003, and 2006 were cancelled according to circumstances in the region.

Program The Higher Council and the Embassy of Japan in Jordan arrange an itinerary in Jordan.
Period Three weeks in September
Previous participants Previous participants who visited Jordan actively organize activities in Japan, in which they introduce tradition and culture of Jordan.
