Quick glance at the project
- The project will have a total cost of approximately US$300 million
- AES Jordan PSC is the project company owned 40% by Mitsui & Co.,LTD.and 60% by AES Oasis Ltd.
- The project involves
a) the construction of a 370MW combined cycle natural gas fired power plant in Al Manakher (located 25 km to the east of Amman),
and b) the supply of electric power to a state-owned electricity company of Jordan for 25 years from the first phase of completion of the plant in 2008 - The financing is being provided by Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), OPIC (US governmental financial institution) and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation of Japan as Commercial Bank supported by a World Bank Partial Risk Guarantee for Commercial Bank portion.
