The new and former president of the Ikebana International Jordan Chapter paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Kato

• Mrs. Hind Shalan, President of the Ikebana International Jordan Chapter who assumed her post in September 2006, and Mrs. Wafa Kawas, the former president, visited the Ambassador on 20 November 2006.
• The ladies acquainted the Ambassador with history of their organization that was established in 1980s and has played an active role in the mutual understanding between Japan and Jordan.
• The Ambassador assured them of the further partnership of the Embassy of Japan with the Ikebana International in Jordan.
• On this occasion, the Ambassador donated a digital camera to the Ikebana International in hope that it will help the spread of the Japanese art of Ikebana
• The Jordanian delegation of forty persons participated in the Ninth World Convention which took place in October 2006 in Tokyo
