The
Government of Japan provided Jordan Meningitis Association in 1998
with a grant worth of US$ 83,542 in order to implement vaccination
campaign against meningitis in East Amman. Around 200,000
children received the vaccination and the Association's follow up
report on the positive result of it has led the Jordanian Government
to execute the vaccination program in Jordan. Accordingly, cases of a
type of meningitis diseases have dropped sharply so far.
In March 2003, Japan decided to donate rehabilitation equipment worth
of US$ 65,591 to the Association in order to provide the patients with
a chance to have proper training to merge into the society.
According to the Association, ten children have learned walking on
crutches or with a walker. |
