A Japanese music group visited many provinces in Jordan

To attach a great deal of value to cultural activities in the Jordanian provinces and to introduce to the Jordanians the different aspects of Japan

 

Three talented musicians introduced Japanese melodies to the Jordanians

Ten concerts were arranged in various provinces in Jordan

  

Mr. Masamichi Ozaki, Ms. Kaori Watanabe and Ms. Asami Imanishi are three young talented Japanese volunteers dispatched by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

They have performed in ten concerts in various areas in
Jordan , namely, Darat Al-Funun, Yarmouk University , University of Jordan , Zaa’tari in Mafraq governorate, Azraq Nature Reserve, Madaba, Jabal Naser, Irbid, Aqaba and Wadi Musa.

During the concert, the artists
played “Etenraku”, which has been performed in joyful occasions in Japan for 1,400 years accompanied with “Hichiriki”, a Japanese short, double-reed aerophone instrument used in ancient court music, and another two western musical instruments, the piano and the flute.  The musicians also played a Japanese melancholic melody entitled “Hometown” and concluded the concert with a tune entitled “New Asia”.

Mr. Masamichi Ozaki, who is also the designer of the Japanese garden, said, “ Japan and the Arab world have been keeping close historical ties via the Silk Road which dates back to ancient times”. “We hope to consolidate a new bridge between our two countries, Japan and Jordan ”, Mr. Ozaki added.
