Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good Morning.

I am honoured to be here today on the occasion of the signing ceremony of the “Development of a Science, Technology and Innovation Policy & Strategy in Jordan 2011-2015”.

I would like to thank all of you who are present here today.

This is one of the projects sponsored by the Japanese Fund-in Trust for the Capacity-building of Human Resources which was established in 2000 to support capacity building programs in education, science and technology, culture and communication.

So far, about 200 projects have been implemented including educational assistance to Africa, reconstruction projects in Iraq, Afghanistan and Sudan, prevention of aids among others.

This project to Jordan with the amount of 160,674 US dollars will cover a wide variety of activities such as training of trainers workshop and consultation of workshops, aiming to establish programme on policy formulation, deepen the knowledge of statistic, monitoring and evaluation tools to name a few.

I am sincerely hoping that staffs of the Higher Council for Science and Technology and Ministry of Higher Education, Department of Statistic and Universities of Jordan will benefit from this project.

Thank you for attention.
