Long term contribution of Japan to the water sector in Jordan was recognized on the occasion of 'World Water day'

- On 24 March, Ambassador Kato attended a celebration held by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation under the patronage of Prime Minister Nader Dahabi.
- In the ceremony, Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Saud honored several ministers, parliament and government representatives, including Ambassador Kato and the representative of JICA Jordan Office, Mr. Sato, and some of the water sector personnel in recognition for their long term contribution in the water sector in Jordan.
- The minister also handed out prizes for students who won at a picture contest for water. Before the ceremony, Ambassador Kato visited the exhibition room of the winners with the minister and other distinguished guests.
- The World Water Day is initiated the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) since 1992. The United Nations General Assembly designated March 22 of each year as the World Water Day.
