- On Wednesday, February 22, Mr. Junichi Kosuge, Ambassador of Japan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Mr. Filippo Grandi, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), exchanged Note Verbales on Japan’s humanitarian assistance of ten million US dollars through UNRWA for Palestine refugees at Wadi Al-Seer Training Centre in Amman.
- Supporting a two-state solution that will realize peaceful coexistence between Israel and a Palestinian state, Japan gives this assistance aiming at improving the difficult living condition of Palestine refugees. This contribution will be utilized for operating UNRWA’s ten health clinics in Gaza, which offers necessary health services to more than six hundred and twenty thousand Palestine refugees.
- Japan recognizes UNRWA an important partner in assisting Palestine refugees and has so far contributed approximately six hundred million US dollars to UNRWA.
